I love the clean lines of the Orientalist period; they seemed to be so far ahead of their time. In today's more clinical interiors the wonderful Meiji bronze forms with Shakudo and gilt decoration is just stunning, accompanied with the vibrant colours of the enamel Cloisonné work there is nothing better. Alongside this there is the outstanding inlaid mother of pearl work in the late 19th century Chinese furniture and the more restrained furniture from the earlier times as well as Chinese Vases to help set it all off.
