Our stock of mirrors is broadly divided into sections. The first comprises overmantel mirrors which are usually arched or rectangular like the high Regency one from Georgie Fame. The second is pier glasses which are tall and slender to hang above console tables or in alcoves. The third section is Regency convex mirrors which curiously distort reflections but are effective for maximising candle light. In addition there are hinged cheval mirrors for dressing and toilette. Finally we have pairs of ornate, beautifully carved decorative mirrors for the drawing room often further embellished with gilding or Vernis Martin - example the Chinese Chippendale style ones with ho-ho birds and an Edwards and Roberts label.
