Wick Antiques 2014
What do we do?
Having previously supplied the famous Antiques department at Harrods for over 22 years, we are UK based specialists in 18th and 19th century luxury antiques, works of art and maritime paraphernalia. Regularly exhibiting at shows such as Lapada, Olympia, Masterpiece and internationally at Palm Beach, Miami and the Armory show in New York to name but a few. The large and ever-changing show room in Lymington, Hampshire is on the south coast and is always full of surprises.
Who are we?
Wick Antiques was established by Charles Wallrock in the early 1980s. Having grown up in the Antiques world Charles developed an extensive wealth of knowledge. Starting out as a ‘man with a van’ he quickly gained a good reputation and embarked on a longstanding relationship with Harrods. He was later joined by his wife, Caroline Wallrock. Caroline having completed a Persian degree, went on to study at Christie’s fine art and then joined Sotheby’s specializing in Islamic and Japanese works of art, as well as taking the occasional auction. Together they make a formidable team with extensive knowledge and buy and sell some of the best items on the market.
What can we offer you?
Having over thirty years of experience selling items from the very modest to works of national importance we have a very varied and ever changing stock. Predominantly 18th and 19th century luxury furniture, works of art and objects of interest. With a passion for sailing we have built up a huge collection of maritime paraphernalia. Ranging from the best globes on the market and exhibition quality ship models to 1960’s submarine clocks and giant tillers there is something for every avid sailor.
We are always pleased to be introduced to new stock and build new relationships with reputable suppliers. Perhaps you have an unusual piece, which may appeal to one of our long-standing private or corporate clients or are looking for assistance in the sale of items from an estate? Either way, we offer free appraisals for notable stock and even if we don't wish to acquire all or part of a collection, we may be able to assist in introducing buyers who do.
We work closely with Lymington Restoration, a team of highly skilled craftsmen. Together we offer cabinet making, antique or modern restoration, gilding, French polishing, upholstery and lighting. No project is too big. We are happy to do local pick ups.
We source and help clients to build collections
If you are looking for something specific or unique we can help you find it or we can just offer advice on how to build up a collection.
Where are we?
Our showroom is located in the Riverside Business Park, just off the High Street in the quaint harbour town of Lymington. Lymington is a small town situated in the New Forest on the South Coast of the United Kingdom adjacent to the stretch of water between the mainland and the Isle of Wight, the famous New Forest and close to the shipping ports of Southampton and Portsmouth. Both Southampton and Bournemouth are within half an hours drive and each has an airport serving destinations throughout Europe and further afield.
We are also just over ninety minutes from central London and regular trains from Waterloo offer direct services to nearby Brockenhurst, with a Heritage branch line from there providing access to Lymington Station which is only a few minutes' walk away.
